Safe Surfaces
SBR rubber sheets
SBR rubber tile surfacing is a single-layer synthetic surface in the form of rubber tiles for playgrounds. They are made from a mixture of SBR rubber granules and polyurethane adhesive. The tiles are laid on a stabilised and hardened surface, e.g. concrete or a prepared base of mineral aggregates. In terms of safety and ability to cushion falls, this type of surface is second to none. The disadvantages are that they are less resistant to UV radiation and are not dyed in the mass, which causes abrasion during use and results in a change in shade.
